Tsunami 2004: Tragedy and Survival in Coastal India

On 26 December 2004, one of the deadliest natural disasters in modern history struck. Massive tsunami waves devastated the eastern coast of India, destroying villages, displacing families, and leaving behind deep scars.

I traveled through Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Nagapattinam, documenting the lives shattered and the determination of communities as they tried to rebuild. These images capture both the overwhelming loss and the quiet strength of survivors.
